Chocolate Rush festival – Docklands

Well girls they say that there is only one thing as good as sex….and that is Chocolate and there is plenty (chocolate that is) at the North Wharf in the Docklands. Ladies this is the 4th year that the Chocolate Rush Chocolate Festival will educate, indulge and challenge your palate. You will get to experience all there is to know about chocolate while experiencing offers by Australia’s finest chocolatiers and pastry chefs. While there you can take a class or visit the chocolate market where you can talk to the chocolatiers, sample and taste what’s on offer and buy some of your favourites to take home. Yummm.. There are Chocolate Demonstrations on the chocolate stage throughout the day and then for something different why not try unique handmade chocolates with black truffle imported from Italy. Also there is an exclusive range of European truffle products, including truffle honey, truffle salt and truffle cavier. Plus fresh black Pengord truffle, truffle ice cream and truffle eggs, chocolate truffle mousse, truffle oil and truffle mustard. Heaven!!!

Then after all that chocolate you will need somewhere to rest your head so why not stay in the Docklands.
Here are some ideas :-

Lifes a Beach

The bronzed Aussie with a nose covered in zinc cream, a surfboard, and big happy grin is a stereotype held by many people throughout the world. The bronzed part is easy enough – even with sunblock, t-shirts, and hats, lovely tans are hard to avoid given our abundance of sunshine. The zinc cream is our way of saying, “Hey – it’s cool to be sun-safe – protect yourself!” The surfboard (or fishing rods, scuba gear etc) is because there are so many adventures to be had at each of our beaches. And the big happy grin? Hey – when you have thousands of kilometres of coastline, you just can’t stop smiling. For this reason, Australia welcomes millions of visitors to our shores, all hoping to catch a taste of the Aussie life, even if only for a week.

With so many beaches from which to choose, where do you start? Follow our handy tips for planning the ultimate beach getaway, and before long, you’ll be proudly sporting a happy grin too…

1.    Choose a beach type: If your aim is romance, you probably won’t be happy at a beach crowded with young children. Equally, if you plan to have a wild time surfing, you’ll be really disappointed if you wind up in a quiet bay!  To find your perfect beach…
2.    Let others do the homework! Thanks to the wonders of technology, pretty much any questions you want to ask have already been answered and are floating right now in cyber space. For example, if you asked, “What are the best beaches for…(insert your heart’s desire)” the chances are, someone has already written about it. In fact, if you head to Holiday Inspirations there’s already an article detailing the best beaches in Australia for kids, surfing, and romance! . Here, you can get a head start on finding the perfect beach for your holiday.
3.    Pick the right accommodation: Once you’ve decided on the right beaches, the next step is deciding where to stay. The last thing you want is to find yourself in a rundown motel. Or to find the perfect kid-friendly bay, only to end up in an elegant boutique hotel! To avoid making a mistake, head to TakeABreak, where you can use the handy drop down lists to choose the holiday accommodation experience you’re after.
4.    Packing: Areas that attract tourists frequently have inflated prices for items that you just can’t do without – like bathers, sunblock, and sunglasses. And wherever you go in Australia, the chances are you’re going to encounter some serious sunshine. So remember to pack plenty of those items, and maybe even some rash vests to protect your skin from the sun’s UV rays. If you plan to try some snorkelling, buy your gear at home and bring it with you.
5.    Plan to try something new! Never attempted scuba diving? See if the beach you’re going to has dive shops offering introductory classes. Wish you could fish? The chances are, there’s a fishing guide near the beach you’re visiting who would love to take you out to cast a line.

So what are you waiting for, start planning now for that week or weekend away..
