Well girls they say that there is only one thing as good as sex….and that is Chocolate and there is plenty (chocolate that is) at the North Wharf in the Docklands. Ladies this is the 4th year that the Chocolate Rush Chocolate Festival will educate, indulge and challenge your palate. You will get to experience all there is to know about chocolate while experiencing offers by Australia’s finest chocolatiers and pastry chefs. While there you can take a class or visit the chocolate market where you can talk to the chocolatiers, sample and taste what’s on offer and buy some of your favourites to take home. Yummm.. There are Chocolate Demonstrations on the chocolate stage throughout the day and then for something different why not try unique handmade chocolates with black truffle imported from Italy. Also there is an exclusive range of European truffle products, including truffle honey, truffle salt and truffle cavier. Plus fresh black Pengord truffle, truffle ice cream and truffle eggs, chocolate truffle mousse, truffle oil and truffle mustard. Heaven!!!
Then after all that chocolate you will need somewhere to rest your head so why not stay in the Docklands.
Here are some ideas :-

The ladies of Le Tableaux Burlesque have invited people to dress up in 1920′s and 30′s attire to get you in the mood before the show. Unlike most stage shows the crowd becomes a part of the show and creates a backdrop, settting the mood and tempo of teh times. For those adventurous few thare is an opportunity to dance and participate and Girls this is definitely an an extravaganza. Soiree follows the story of sheltered traveller Gilbert Humpnickle who discovers more than just a garden party as Revolt is transformed into a bacchanalian playground. Watch as he falls prey to burlesque temptresses and fiery femmes fatales. Drunk with desire, Gilbert will discover that in the Soiree nothing is as it seems and that the fork in the path can lead to much more than a garden party. Whatever the season, whatever the reason, a stay in Mansfield – in Victoria’s northeast – is the perfect way to relax and revive. The Mansfield area is renowned for its spectacular national parks, state forests, mountains, lakes and rivers, and historic links. Its sense of history and adventure is still evident in the homes and buildings that have graced the landscape for several generations. New industries with a stronger tourism focus have given visitors and residents alike many more reasons to the stay in the area.
The rivers, lakes and mountains await lovers of the great outdoors; the shops, galleries, restaurants and wineries welcome lovers of the great indoors. Go driving, hiking, camping, biking, horse riding all year round, and of course snow skiing in winter.
If your preference is for life at a quiet stroll, acquaint yourself with the range of shops, galleries and dining establishments, or taste without haste at the several wineries throughout the area. Discover historic surprises with self-guided walking tours of the townships of Mansfield, Jamieson and Woods Point.
The surrounding localities of Merrijig, Mirimbah, Mt Stirling and Mt Buller to the east ; Macs Cove, Goughs Bay, Jamieson, Kevington, and Woods Point to the south; Maindample, Bonnie Doon and Merton to the west; Barjarg, Nillahcootie and Swanpool to the north; and Barwite and Tolmie to the north east, all have their own special features and are well worth a visit, depending on your length of stay.
The area boasts a zoo, berry farm, brewery, historic sites and buildings, as well as a selection of art galleries, cellar door wineries, dining establishments, historic hotels and interesting shops. These are either right in Mansfield or just a few minutes drive away.
Accommodation options to suit all tastes and budgets make the Mansfield area the ideal place any time of year for singles, couples, families or groups – anybody in search of a good time or a quiet rest. Wherever you stay – from camping to five-star pampering – the atmosphere is welcoming and friendly.
There is always something going on in Mansfield. Throughout the year there are regular bush-markets and a selection of festivals and cultural occasions. Major sporting events such as the Great Victoria Bike Ride and High Country Cycle Challenge are a feature too. See www.mansfieldonline.com.au for details of what’s on throughout the year in the Mansfield area.
Mansfield offers something special to visitors whatever the season, and it is easy to see why so many return to the area time after time.

Girls, this is supposed to be a 5 star hotel right!! Well it is far from 5 stars in my opinion. Let me just take you through a few examples of why. First check in…There were two staff on the desk, both of them were preoccupied and of course on this mass expanse of desk it was devoid of other staff. Plus no eye contact, or “Mdme I will be with you in a minute”; nothing. I stood there for 15 minutes, finally a new person arrives and summons me with a Bonjour; (what’s with the bonjour, we are in Sydney). Anyway, when I explained how long I had waited I was told that I would be upgraded. Wow!!! I got all excited on the way up in the elevator, thinking upgrade in a 5 star hotel, this will be fantastic…
Only to find that if I was upgraded, my original booking must have been for the broom closet.
The room was small and the King bed was two singles strapped together. You know the one with that annoying bump in the middle!! I hate those beds and Mr Sofitel, they are NOT King beds, they are two singles stuck together…. So never advertsie them as Kings!!! Sorry I digressed…
Anyway the TV set obviously was from a dolls house, you basically had to stick it to your eyeball to see what was happening. Or maybe the rationale is that the smaller the TV, the bigger the room looks, bit like display home thinking. There was one small window in the room, Yes it is a Dolls house!!! The window curtain and blind are controlled by a long windy handle.. Yes that is a girls summation of frustration as you spend minutes winding up the blind and then the curtain, of course each has to have it’s own handle to make things even more complicated. What topped everything off though was the laundry service. I put a shirt that I needed for that night into the same day service as I was attending a dinner function. Well, no shirt at 6, resulting in a panic shop costing me $60. Later 4 phone calls to the laundry service with 4 Bonjour’s and an air of arrogance (They made me feel Like…Yep its that crazy lady again, we don’t have her shirt, she never put it in.. tell her to take a Valium and go to bed) and yes at 10pm at night my shirt arrives…If only my shirt could talk!! So Sofitel; Au revoir, jamais plus !!

Over the course of a weekend, the Dalai Lama will explore six perfections that provide the basis for a way of life – generosity, ethics, patience, enthusiasm, concentration and wisdom. This is a rare opportunity globally for us to listen and experience His teachings over 2½ days.
While we at GWA have no bias either way regarding this event, it is our intention to bring you information regarding something that may be quite experiential.
The Convention Centre will be making available lunches for pre purchase, which will be available for collection in the cafeterias set up in the foyers at the venue, on presentation of your ticket.
$22 per meal for a Hot Lunch including meat & vegetarian hot dishes with rice, salad and hot & cold drinks. $18 per meal for a Lunch Box including a sandwich, piece of fruit, trail mix and bottled water.
He will also be visiting other states of Australia, for more information visit http://www.dalailamainaustralia.org/default.aspx
